I so love the smell of a Christmas tree! Richard and I went the day after Thanksgiving to pick ours out – it was quite the site to see us decorating it. I thought it was still missing a little something this week so I decided to add a few special ornaments.
Our neighbors have plenty of pine cones that have fallen off the trees so I picked a few from the sidewalks. I popped them in the oven for about 20 minutes. This dries up any sap and they can be stored for many Christmases to come.
I still had some burlap from our wedding so I decided to use it to make the loop on the top but you can use any ribbon or twine of your choosing. I cut the burlap into 7 inch strips and hot glued the ends together at the top of the pine cone.
Let them cool and then add to the tree. Merry Christmas!
